Special Pickets
The WGA is on strike. Picketing is an important tactic to compel the studios to reach a deal that meets writers’ needs. We will be here for as long as it takes. Solidarity and member turnout are essential, and we want to keep everyone safe and healthy on the lines so folks keep coming out.
Many member groups have already demonstrated their solidarity and contribution to energizing the picket lines by organizing special themed events or reunions at specific studio picket lines. These events are great for solidarity, but when the number of participants is unexpectedly high, this can stress resources including captains, support staff, and supplies.
With the goals of keeping everyone engaged, effective, and safe on the picket lines, we are asking any WGA member or organization who wants to organize a special picket to inform WGAW staff by completing this form. We also ask that group leaders make sure the people attending know the regular WGA picket guidelines. A list of upcoming WGA East special pickets can be viewed on the general Picket Schedule.
In order to ensure the picket line sites are properly supported, please consult the calendar below and provide not only your preferred site and date but also alternate locations and times. Requests for specific picket locations and times will be approved on a first come, first served basis whenever possible while balancing limited staff and other resources needed to support these events.
If you have a question or would like to notify us of a change in plans, please email Special Pickets.
